Love the Lord

Britton and I did and arts and crafts project after school today. In an attempt to continue to bring Christ home (not just at school or church) I went online and found a Christ-centered activity.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. (Deuteronomy 6:5)

We made a heart (she got to cut it out) and on it- we wrote down how we show God that we love Him. After all, Valentines day is right around the corner. I wrote, as she came up with different ways.

Here they are, in no particular order.
Question- How do we should God that we love him?

  • “pray about Him”
  • “By singing songs for God”
  • “We go to church to show God we love Him”
  • “To hug somebody; to do something simple”
  • “We say the blessing”
  • “If we get kidnapped we can pray for the people to give us back to our family”
  • “we thank God for pretty bracelets and for our family”

Diapers, diapers and more diapers

Oh how I love Mary. It was so nice to come home this afternoon, after running around for hours to a clean house, with clean laundry and a sleeping Kenley.

Thank you Mary!

Big Daddy and I toured an elementary school which helped to ease my increasing anxiety about where little miss B will be spending the next 6 years. I don’t know if it will be a bigger adjustment for Mom or her.

When I picked her up from school yesterday, her teacher, Mrs. P said that Britton had made a visit to the principal after BITING her friend.

Are you kidding me? She’s 4 1/2!

Oh goodness- she is also in diapers and night. And when she wakes up they are soaking wet. I’ve been trying to put her on the potty before I go to bed (she’s half asleep)- but most of the time she has already wet herself.

Tonight, yet again, I attempted to tell her WHY she needed to potty before putting the diaper on (herself mind you- she puts it on herself). It makes her feel secure I think.

My goal is to have her out of the diaper by the end of the school year. That should be attainable. She wears a size 6 – which is the largest they go. From here, her cute little fanny will have to wear Depends!

baby britton

Back in the days when Sassy babysat Britton on Thursday’s while mommy went to work

Mommy started running when you were 5 weeks old- it was the only way to rid the 24 lbs!

Mommy’s little girl! I always loved the foyer wallpaper too- I had forgotten about it until now

Britton still looks like this 5 month photo. Even tonight as she sleeps in my bed.

Such a big chair for a little girl. This is also at 5 months

One of my all time favorite pictures. Ever. 6 months

I felt guilty for not having any pictures of baby britton.. haven’t typed those words in quite some time.

Boo!

My first instinct is still to chuckle when I see these photos of Kenley as a newborn. My mom, on the other hand, gets upset when she sees them.
You see- Kenley was in undiagnosed heart failure when these were taken. We couldn’t figure out why she was so tiny with big eyes.
But come on, she’s so cute with those saucer eyes you can’t help but laugh when you see the “chandler” expression on her face!
(you had to have seen the ‘Friends’ episode years ago).
I think Kenley was about 14 weeks in this photo- I can see that she has been propped up for her photo shoot.

Gratefulness

I asked Britton to name two things she was grateful for tonight. Her answers:
1. Kenley
2. Mommy (this may be because it was the 3 of us sitting on the floor)

I asked Kenley what she was grateful for. Her answers:
1. “Boobs” (as she pulled down my shirt)
2. “Bebe” (her pacifier- for those that don’t speak Robinson)
