Kenley’s Interest

Yesterday, for the first time I took Kenley to our local Public library. We are lucky to have a branch near our home.

As a full time working mom, 5 years ago, this was an activity I was always wishing I could do.

“If only I didn’t work, I would get to take Britton to story time”.

Kenley comes along, I am NOT working, however she was born ill so we were always home.

Then better, then preschool, then a job, and now she’s 2 1/2.

So I closed the screen of my laptop at 10:15 yesterday, because by golly I was taking her to the library!

We got there at 10:30 for story time, and I had forgotten how nice it was to get to spend one on one time with the Kens. I’ve had both girls at home full time since May, and Kenley hasn’t had much alone time with Mommy.

Okay, back to my story.

So the kids are quietly listening to the story teller read a book about little bears, when suddenly Kenley looks up at me, holding a tampon that she has retreived from my purse.

She inquisitively, and quite loudly I might add, yells ‘Dis go in you ah tee tee ma mee?”

Me- Kenley, shhhh- yes. No put that away!”

Kenley- “Dis go in you ah tee tee ma mee!”

Oh, the joys of motherhood.

My friend Alison sitting next to me asked- how does she even know that?

Kenley is my little shadow. She follows me everywhere.

Everywhere.

Homework

After school today, I was fumbling through Britton’s red kindergarten tote bag. They bring them home each day with notes, lunch boxes, etc.

I noticed a paper with a picture of our current president, and photos of the two candidates running. The question on the paper was, “What is the President’s job?”

To Britton, I said- “Britton, do you have homework today?”

Britton replied, “no mommy, you have homework today.”

Love it.

Mazelle

Pops and Mazelle

Mazelle and her girls- Mom and Meme.

Mazelle at the farm in Indianapolis with Mom and Dale. Go girl!

Sitting down to take a quick (and I mean quick) rest.

May 2008

This is our sweet Mazelle. She has been with the Landrum Family for 4 generations. She is our family.

Mazelle gave my mom her first bath, when she was a baby.

Mazelle gave me my 1st bath when I came home from the hospital as a baby.

And Mazelle bathed Britton when she was just a few days old.

Ballet Recital

May 2008

Britton the Ballerian- she did great on stage! She danced her little heart out!

The Robinson Family 2008

Although Britton’s ballet recital was in May, at the time BOTH my video recorder and camera had dead batteries. The only photos we were able to capture were from my mom’s camera. While I am sitting at her desk, I am posting for prosperity.
