Georgia on my Mind

We spent the day today in GA with friends- the girls rode 4 wheelers, made a bonfire, played with walking sticks. The adults got to skeet shoot, ride the land (250 acres) and eat fried chicken. It was a fun, fun day.

Merry Christmas 2008

We had a wonderful Christmas 2008 with our families! Santa was sweet to our girls, as “Lou” our Elf had given him good reports since Thanksgiving. B bursted into our bedroom at 6:30 am this morning yelling to us, “Santa bwought me what I wanted!!” (a Hannah Montana singing doll- sings ‘rocking around the christmas tree’). Kenley was on her feet and thrilled to have received a tea set!

Our bellies are full, are feet are tired, and our hearts are swollen with happiness!

More family fun

We hit two Christmas parties this morning, did yard work (rake, mow, blow, edge), I mad a mean BBQ dinner and now Daddy has pitched a tent in the backyard for his girls to sleep in. It is 70 degrees so why not. This is my kind of day.

On a different note entirely, Britton said something cute this week and I meant to record it into this blog which is now their electronic baby book.

Her Daddy and I were giving each other a long kiss goodbye in the hallway before he left for work that morning. Britton, who was holding her red kindergarten tote bag dressed in her plaid uniform suddenly instrusted us, “Stop dat you two, stop acting sexy!”

And another “sexy” story, the other day she saw a woman posed in a bathing suit, and said to me “Why is she trying to look sexy mama”.

She is 5 years old, lord help me!

I am off to check out my girls camped in their tent in the backyard!

Another first

We are having popcorn and watching a Christmas movie tonight for family night. I am moved that Britton cried for the first time over a movie’s happy ending.

Another first. Of many..
