Thankfulness

I was going through this blog tonight and re-read all the entries leading up to, and during Kenley’s open heart surgery last summer. I still think about her journey- every day.

Every single day.

I am not dwelling on the events, rather reminding myself how lucky Mike and I are to have her in our lives today.

She came so close, dangerously close, to leaving us.

Looking back, I am not sure how I held it together, much less sent cohesive email updates to family and friends. My baby girl almost died- with me beside her, and I am thankful to God that she did not. Instead she is singing “Where is pinky” in Publix this afternoon and asking God to Bless Diego tonight.

This verse rings true for me today, and every day.

1 I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;

I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.

2 I will be filled with joy because of you.

I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.
