Summer summer summer

Summer is here! Temperatures have risen, the hair won’t straighten, crickets come out at dusk, and slurpees all of a sudden sound really good!

Kenley is in the midst of her swimming lessons. She is not thrilled, to say the least, to be kicking, blowing bubbles, and holding her breath. Upon being prompted by her Mama, she will turn around on her heels, waddle to the pool step and say, “Okkkkkayyy Mama”. That’s my girl. I don’t care if you stick out your bottom lip, so long as you are accommodating.

Kenley had a half day today- she stayed back with Mary while I took Britton for a mani/pedi. We also made an impromptu shopping stop to buy her faux diamond flowered earrings. She picked them out, and I must say that is enough bling on them for even her mama to appreciate.

This is one of my facorite photos in quite some time. Britton was at the pool this afternoon asking for a toy, a drink, a towel…. something I am sure. But her face is perfect and I hope she stays young and sweet forever!

Goodbye First Grade

Mr. Robinson and I watched Fireproof again tonight.

For the third time.

I just love that movie- and even Mr. R flipped his laptop shut to watch it with me.  The acting did not win any Oscars, I know this. But the message sure should have.

My first grader…. almost second grader, is having her End of The Year Class Party tomorrow.
I am sad. First grade flew past way to quickly. Tomorrow is the last “full” day of first grade for Britton. I am too young to have a 2nd grader and B is DEFINITELY too young to be in 2nd grade. She just got potty trained, just learned to swim, just said her first words, and just gazed into my eyes as the nurse put her on my chest for the first time.. all swaddled in her white and pink blanket with that head full of hair.

And I have a feeling that the years will just speed up each year.

Where is the pause button?

Yesterday B brought me breakfast in bed. She said that since we were out of town for Mother’s Day that she wanted to something special for me today.

Then later in the day, she gave me two hand picked flowers for my hair. They came from her flower arrangement that Mr. Robinson gave her for the play. She said she wanted to share them with me because she loved me, and proceeded to give me a big-huge-make-me-feel-full-hug.

As if it’s not bad enough that I am awake until 11 pm sewing most nights, I now cannot keep my hands off my camera.  With the world of digital cameras, software edit tools, and the cutest subjects ever… what’s not to love!
For years, since I was a kid with my Le Clic camera I have loved photographs, photo frames, camerms,  film, photo books… all the above.

So I am determined to learn what aperature, MM, TV, RAW (and all the other lingo) mean.

I messed around with several photos tonight.

Poor Mr. Robinson, just cooked us dinner, cleaned the kitchen, and has a movie on TV Deep End of the Ocean in attempts to lure my attention his way. But alas, photos are waiting to be edited.
