Jinx. Britton asked me the definition of the word last night. I explained to her that it was a superstition thinking something causes bad luck. I helped her use it in a sentence on her homework.
As fate would have it, I ran into a friend at Kenley’s ballet class- she asked me how baby brother was sleeping. “Well,” I said, “he doesn’t nap worth a darn but he sleeps 12-13 hours at night so I guess I shouldn’t complain.”
Jinx: (verb) a person, thing, or influence supposed to bring bad luck.
Last night, Pee Wee woke up at midnight, 2 am, 3 am, 4:10 am, 4:50 am and again at 5:20 am. At this point, I fed him a bottle and promptly turned off the monitor to try to get an hour sleep myself. Oh, and his Daddy happened to be out of town last night too.
While I am at it- might as well unload my entire dump trunk of trash: Big sister is fighting a UTI. I ate something that my stomach didn’t like so much as me. Both girls had a parasite last week. My ancient laptop has decided that the letters “R”, “G” and “E” are no longer needed. This means I cannot log in to my computer, which means I cannot access photos, files, bookmarks and have to now shop for a new computer.
Desktop or laptop? Mac or Windows?
And this back up laptop that I am using just shut down on me too. Lovely.
But like I tell my girls, you have to focus on the positive.
We have great health insurance, Oprah has new shows on OWN, my husband and children are healthy, Britton is selling the heck out of some Girl Scout cookies, and Britton’s new bedroom looks pretty darn good if I do say so myself.
So… No photos today- despite having some awfully cute ones to download. Tomorrow will be better.
I hope I didn’t just jinx myself.
