Words for the Soul

Over the last couple of months we have been working on scripture memorization. If the girls can recite the weekly passage (and corresponding chapter in the Bible) they get a piece of candy- and nobody likes impromptu mini Snickers more than these two gals.  I am the first to admit that there are  few scriptures I have memorized, verbatim,  and it’s a hit or miss as to whether or not I can tell you where in the Bible the verse is found, even if I can remember it. This new ‘game’ is two fold in it’s advantages- both the girls and their mama.

Writing new ‘spells’ (to cast on her big sister no doubt)

Some of my favorite so far:

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.” – John 8:32

“Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” – Proverbs 16:24

And this week:
“I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:13
