Wild Adventures

Life really is a Wild Adventure. We live it and we went there.

Our girls have been asking to go to Disney for the past couple months years. We finagled a 90 mile ride to a nearby theme park instead. Some might call it, “the redneck Disney.” As much I wanted to take photos of some of the colorful visitors there, I some how refrained. They probably saw our crew and thought the same thing.

Our kids, of course, could not have cared less as they took in everything the park had to offer: The Lazy {contaminated} River, roller coasters, merry go rounds, water slides, Tilt-A-Whirl, Cotton Candy, and Ferris Wheels. Well, so maybe we didn’t go on the Ferris wheel since both Mike and I chickened out. Those things go high!

After some food in our bellies we got started right away. Britton opted to cautiously warm up with a slide with Kenley chose a heart flip-flop ride first.

I love how she held his hand, with mild trepidation, as they waited in line…

Then she wasn’t so sure. Wait for it. Wait for it….

Boom! My timid girl made a self discovery. She loves her some wild ride. It used to be when we saw a sign that read ‘people with heart defects shouldn’t ride this ride, blah blah’ we had to play it safe and steer away. Not anymore!

playing it safe- it’s like they switch roles.

Mike and I took turns taking the kids on rides so someone could stay back with Raynes. Apparently being under 36″ keeps you off of most rides.

I hate anything fast or falling, that makes my heart fall into the pit of my stomach. This ride looked pretty safe and all parts appeared to be attached.  After all, my 7 year old just rode it with a big smile and her hands up in the air.  It can’t be that bad, I thought.

I’ll let the next sequence of pictures tell you what I thought about this little um, ride.

Thought bubble would say: I can do this.

Thought bubble: Or at the very least, fake it.

 Thought bubble: Oh shi*t.
