Summer Reading

I am the first to admit that my summer reading got off to a late start… say 2 1/2 months late. However, when I flew by myself last week (a first since 2001), I was able to get a quick read in: Things I Want My Daughters to Know by Alexandra Stoddard. It was spot on and I agreed with most, but not all, of what she wrote. Her advice applies to any mother, wife, sister or daughter- she just so happens to have two daughters.

However, by far, my favorite book (and daily devotional) of late has been Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. She is a missionary who wrote what she believed God was saying to her in prayer. Each day’s entry is quick yet immensely profound. If you are looking for a way to ‘get God back into your everyday life’ this book is your ticket.
