Venison Chili

A real cool front will be making its way here mid-week. To us, this means days where the highs are only in the 50’s. It’s officially venison chili, boots, and sweater season in the south.

Britton has many great qualities, but an open-minded pallet is not one of them. That girl is a picky eater. One food that she recently tried, and to her surprise, loved was my friend Susan’s chili. Going to plug in my crock pot now:

Miss Susan’s Chili

Brown one onion in a piece of bacon

Add: 2 packs venison, browned

1 large can light red kidney beans
1 large can dark red kidney beans

1 small can black beans
1 large can organic crushed tomatoes
1 small can diced tomatoes
(I don’t drain any of them)

1.5 packets McCormick chili seasoning
Let it simmer on low all day, or cook low in crockpot
Serve with favorite toppings: sour cream, sharp cheddar cheese, Fritos, etc.
