Labor-less Day Weekend

Labor-less Day Weekend

Yes, I realize that Labor Day was last weekend, but… sometimes that’s just how we have to roll ’round here.  Since we have spent the better part of the last few months packing, moving, unpacking, organizing and cleaning, we decided to take off for the coast for a change of scenery. This would have been after the little guy landed himself in the ER with a high fever– happy to report he is back to his talkative ways!

He does love a good band-aid (or two, or three) and proudly sported them on his arms, legs and spine last weekend. His badge of courage (he earned it too!).  This guy has finally started to settle into his new surrondings and only hops out of bed 3 times at bedtime as opposed to his previous 20 times stint.

And this girl?  Well lately she is just over it. Everything. Welcome, to the preteen years. It usually takes me calling her out on her little attitude for her to flash that dimple and realize that wearing a smarty pants hat may not suit her after all.

Typically, she comes to office after school and sits with me for an hour until it’s time to head home. Amongst some of the changes we made this year– having her find and try new after school activities was one of them. We are happy to say that she now has violin lessons, tennis lessons, drama class (it took four years for her to get the courage to try anything remotely related to getting up on stage) and running club twice a week. Go Kens!

Sorry pal, you best get used to this- bathing beauties while you are ready to go somewhere or do something.

We closed on our home this morning- the one where we’ve spent the past 10 years of our life. A little lot bittersweet…. but excited about the next chapter in a different home.
