The Life of an Artist

The Life of an Artist

The realization of having some “free time” of my own at home often sends me into a tailspin. So many things I want to do, and the sand it going through the hourglass as I try to decide where to start? Download old photos that are still sitting on my camera? Break out the sewing machine and make those curtains Britton has been asking for? Clean out Raynes’ toy closet? Watch a movie? Work in the yard? So many choices so little time. Yet, here I sit going through photos that, at one time, would have long ago been saved, posted, printed, and put nicely in their chronological color-coordinated leather photo album, sitting happily on the family bookshelf. I’m finding that life can be more fun if you just skim the top of many things- rather than delving deep into a few.  This week? Raynes whipped together several masterpieces, including this watercolorThe perfect reason to take this opportunity to replace some of the kid’s artwork framed throughout the house.

You are beautiful my sweet, sweet song

You are beautiful my sweet, sweet song.

You are my strong melody
You are my dancing rhythm
You are my perfect rhyme
And I want to sing forever.

Happy double-digits birthday to my forever baby girl.

3/3/06 you came out a whopping 8 lbs 13.5 ounces and had to show the kind of strength you were made of from a very young age. And boy have you shown us! Shown us how to put up a fight, be determined, and that slow and steady does in fact always finish ahead. I’ve learned more from that heart of yours and that sweet little dimple- more than you will ever know. Happy Birthday, Kenley!
