Happy Birthday, Britton

Better late than never. Never ever thought it would be this late though. Darn you multiple media platforms!

Britton turned 14 on July 9th and all she wanted was a sit down dinner on her actual birthday. Done and done.  Yours truly cooked the meal, her requested chicken parmesan, set out a robust cheeseboard, sparking grapefruit juice, got her the perfect succulent inspired buttercream cake (that she found with the help of Pinterest). Always one to plan a party, Britton made a photo booth after ordering a remote control and tripod for her digital camera. Genius! The teenagers loved it (although all the great photos are on Britton’s memory card). Indoors was a good thing since it was still 94 degrees at 6pm at night. Got to love summer birthdays in Florida!

Oh to be fourteen again.

Happy Birthday to my firstborn, Britton!

Happy 14th birthday, Britton

Happy 14th Birthday, to our first born Britton. It has been fourteen years filled with your creativity, curiosity, imagination, elaborate party planning, Mertastic making (don’t be embarassed B, very few know what that means), determination all swirled around with a dose of strong-will for good measure. We love you and know the future is yours for the taking! xo

More Beach, Less Stress

More Beach, Less Stress
Or so they say. Judging by recent posts it would look as if all we did in the month of June was live at the beach. That isn’t the case, but come to think of it, five of the last six weekends have been spent there.  I was relieved to have a (double the length- four day) weekend at home- particularly since it’s was a holiday fourth of July kind of weekend. July brings more than just fireworks at our house– really a different kind of firework altogether. Britton’s 14th birthday. Plans are already in the works– her ‘love language’ is gifts so it’s only fitting that she plans her birthdays months and months in advance. Lucky for me.

June Happenings

June Happenings

Not much has happened with the exception of rain, rain and then more rain. We’ve been spending the better half of this month at some part of The Coast it seems– much to our charred skin’s disappointment. The first stop was 30A where we spent a week at Watercolor with my family– and my family. Also known as mass chaos sprinkled with board games, Deep Eddy and many bags of potato chips and popsicles.
